Art is in the eye of the beholder and so too are the images that inspire. My work varies from painting, drawing , sculpting and photography. I get my inspiration from artists that I love, things that surround me, my family and my imagination.

Candle creations

I saw this idea on a site that used lace and Mod Podge to decorate the outside of a ceramic pot.
So I got thinking- what about glass!
I knew that I had a stash of lace in an old suitcase, Mod Podge and this gorgeous little jar that once had a scented candle in it for the project.
I lined my bread board with cling wrap, and applied the Mod Podge onto one side of the lace.
I then stuck the lace around the glass jar and allowed it to dry.
And look at how pretty it was with a candle in it!  I am so please with it that I am going to do this technique to a few other jars so that I can group them together!!
See even I can be 'vintage' when I want to be!!

Chagall Collaborative Piece

My part of the collaborative piece
At a workshop that I went to recently, we made a collaborative piece of Chagall's.  The presenter gave us a a small rectangle with the piece we had to enlarge and recreate and a piece of MDF with a water colour pencil drawing outlining shapes.  We were not allowed to talk to anyone, until the presenter asked certain numbers to get together and see if our colours matched of not. Then the piece was put together.  It was quite extraordinary.
The presenter begins to put it together- using the map she premade (the numbers we all received)

More JennyKay jewellery

I have been dabbling Resin to make some jewellery of late- not really dabbling more like possessed!  Anyhow, I started worrying in the middle of the night (as you do) that there is such health risks with using resin so often, so pondered and thought of an alternative.  When my dear friend Mrs Tiff gave me a oval pendant with with a glass dome covering.  So here are some pics of  my 'first go' with resin to the current design with glass dome.
You can see that my first go have now started to show signs of 'wear'.  I didn't adhere the drawing properly and so the resin seeped under the image causing it to go brown.

These designs are from my latest idea of doing letters for people's names.  I have given some to some friends and even sold a few.
This one is for my daughter and she wanted an aqua necklace - her favourite colour!
This design is for a dear friend who has just been married.  This is for James and Leonie and I put the date of the wedding in the top design, along with a love heart in the bottom right corner. There were some bubbles with my last batch, so I am going to make her another one with the glass dome pendant.

Here is my latest design with the glass domed pedant.  Much more professional looking and no where near as toxic- Thanks Mrs Tiff!

My home town

I thought I'd show you some photo's of the beautiful Gold Coast where I live.  Would you believe we don't get to the beach very often!  We played at the beach and then went to the park afterwards.

The flags were up, but the surf was pretty big and parts were closed.
Here is the skyline of  Surfers Paradise from Broadbeach.
Many people were out walking along the beach.
My daughter made her usual dribble sandcastle.

While my husband and son kicked the soccer ball around.
The care flight helicopter was patrolling along the beach due to the big surf.
 Ahh- we are so luck!
