Art is in the eye of the beholder and so too are the images that inspire. My work varies from painting, drawing , sculpting and photography. I get my inspiration from artists that I love, things that surround me, my family and my imagination.

New designs

Red , black and silver pendant and ring
I love holidays!!  Not only do I get to spend time with my beautiful family, but I get to spend more time making things that I love!!
Sage, turquoise and silver pendant and ring
This turquoise pendant was inspired by my daughter who LOVES turquoise!  I tore pieces of painted paper from the same sheet to create a layered effect.
Gold, turquoise and hot pink pendant

Cobalt blue pendant with Emu feathers
This was one of my first LPN collection designs, but I wasn't happy with the bubbles that were created. I was showing my parents the designs and my dad just loved it and said- it looks great.  Did you know that Emu feathers are in pairs- isn't that romantic- never alone- always with another!!
Sketch- pen
One of my favourite pen drawings.
postage stamp size- copper pendant
This is small , but delicate and pretty.  Postage stamp size and with resin sticker to seal it.
Square ,fancy edge pendant

Ring around a Rosie!

I have started to put my skills to making rings now in a variety of colours.
I made this one for my dear friend Mrs Tiff who loves all this French.

This is one of my drawings put into a ring- and I have many others.
I even love the way the glue at times creates a third dimension with bubbles.  The great thing is that you never know what will happen!!  Each ring, except the drawn ones, are one offs as I use a variety painting techniques are used on each one.  I have now found some earrings to try!

More Jewelry and in Colour!

I have a dear friend who asked if I could make my jewelry in colour!  After thinking a few days and walking around the house for inspiration and Viola- this is what I came up with.  In her honour I have named the colour series after her 'The LPN' collection.

I have also started making rings.  It is such fun and I have had some fantastic feedback from people.  I am so excited with the prospect of these little gems.

I have also now made some black and white drawings in the rings and larger pendants too.  This could be endless project.  I am finding myself thinking about the next design when ever I get a moment to sit and take a breath.
From 'The Tree' series.

From the 'wonderer'

My first order- thanks LPN!
All ready to go home to my latest order.

So stay tuned, I would love your feedback!

Candle creations

I saw this idea on a site that used lace and Mod Podge to decorate the outside of a ceramic pot.
So I got thinking- what about glass!
I knew that I had a stash of lace in an old suitcase, Mod Podge and this gorgeous little jar that once had a scented candle in it for the project.
I lined my bread board with cling wrap, and applied the Mod Podge onto one side of the lace.
I then stuck the lace around the glass jar and allowed it to dry.
And look at how pretty it was with a candle in it!  I am so please with it that I am going to do this technique to a few other jars so that I can group them together!!
See even I can be 'vintage' when I want to be!!

Chagall Collaborative Piece

My part of the collaborative piece
At a workshop that I went to recently, we made a collaborative piece of Chagall's.  The presenter gave us a a small rectangle with the piece we had to enlarge and recreate and a piece of MDF with a water colour pencil drawing outlining shapes.  We were not allowed to talk to anyone, until the presenter asked certain numbers to get together and see if our colours matched of not. Then the piece was put together.  It was quite extraordinary.
The presenter begins to put it together- using the map she premade (the numbers we all received)

More JennyKay jewellery

I have been dabbling Resin to make some jewellery of late- not really dabbling more like possessed!  Anyhow, I started worrying in the middle of the night (as you do) that there is such health risks with using resin so often, so pondered and thought of an alternative.  When my dear friend Mrs Tiff gave me a oval pendant with with a glass dome covering.  So here are some pics of  my 'first go' with resin to the current design with glass dome.
You can see that my first go have now started to show signs of 'wear'.  I didn't adhere the drawing properly and so the resin seeped under the image causing it to go brown.

These designs are from my latest idea of doing letters for people's names.  I have given some to some friends and even sold a few.
This one is for my daughter and she wanted an aqua necklace - her favourite colour!
This design is for a dear friend who has just been married.  This is for James and Leonie and I put the date of the wedding in the top design, along with a love heart in the bottom right corner. There were some bubbles with my last batch, so I am going to make her another one with the glass dome pendant.

Here is my latest design with the glass domed pedant.  Much more professional looking and no where near as toxic- Thanks Mrs Tiff!

My home town

I thought I'd show you some photo's of the beautiful Gold Coast where I live.  Would you believe we don't get to the beach very often!  We played at the beach and then went to the park afterwards.

The flags were up, but the surf was pretty big and parts were closed.
Here is the skyline of  Surfers Paradise from Broadbeach.
Many people were out walking along the beach.
My daughter made her usual dribble sandcastle.

While my husband and son kicked the soccer ball around.
The care flight helicopter was patrolling along the beach due to the big surf.
 Ahh- we are so luck!
